First Week Zero Waste

In 2016, I went plant-based.

In a way, I knew my new lifestyle decision was "eco conscious", but that was never the reason I made the massive lifestyle switch in the first place. I only did it for the health benefits. However, there are tons of people who intentionally stop eating meat & dairy because of the many harmful effects industrialized farming has on our planet.

I personally never considered myself an environmentalist before. To me, these were the folks who were a bit coo-coo, creating hype by spreading wild conspiracy theories. Boy oh boy. I'm so glad I figured out I was wrong.

Our world is changing. Eventually, our demand will no longer meet our supply. Meanwhile, our landfills will continue to fill up faster than any of us can fully grasp & understand.

It makes me sad to come to the realization that my grandkids may never experience the same oceans that I did. That all the plastic bags that I've been using over the course of my lifetime will still be around, 1,000 years from now. And while it would be so easy to just ignore the problem & hope that bigger people with deeper pockets will figure out a solution; this approach isn't enough for me. I need to know that I am doing my part, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem.

In this video, I'll walk you through my very first week of living "zero waste". Or maybe I should say, "zero waste conscious." I know I have a long way to go, but we all have to start somewhere.

Here are links to the Amazon products I mentioned in the video:
